- AWOL
- Absence without leave: disappearing from the team without information or permission.
- GBNF
- Gone but not forgotten: a former teammate whose contribution continues to benefit the community.
- Embed
- A journalist, auditor or external specialist observing and reporting from the case environment.
- Cadence
- The shared rhythm that keeps people and activity working in harmony.
- Fallen Eagle
- A team member who has passed away.
- Stake-out
- The observation period for a new instructor or team member.
- O-Line
- The operational line where a case takes place.
- Walk-in
- A person, request or event that enters the workflow organically.
- Rucks
- The backpack and essential equipment prepared for a case.
- EDC
- Everyday carry: the items kept ready for daily work or a specific case.
- Roll-up
- Closing a case or ending an instructor, coach, mentor or personnel assignment.
