Aegis showed me how psychological pressure affects performance—and how technical capability, trust and teamwork can be built together.
The month I spent in the Aegis training and certification process was probably the hardest period I have ever experienced. I saw how strongly psychological factors can affect a person’s capabilities and performance.
For years, I had worked to improve my technical abilities. I constantly read and tried to absorb everything I could, but Aegis showed me that information alone could take me only so far. Time pressure, team pressure, the fear of falling behind and the fear of failure prevented me from using what I already knew. At times, I froze and could not access the knowledge in my own mind.
Stress and fear kept me from reaching my ideal performance state. During the program, I had to face the things I feared and had previously avoided. Once I accepted them, I felt stronger.
One of my best experiences in Aegis was learning to be part of a team. Years of negative experiences had made me operate alone. Trusting someone, sharing tasks and asking for or offering support were unfamiliar to me. The Aegis methodology showed me how powerful a team can be, how reassuring it is to trust a teammate and how enjoyable it is to think together.
The difficulties I had faced alone for years began to lose their meaning once I became part of a team.
Tasks arrived relentlessly for days. Even when I felt as if I were sinking, I had to continue. At one point, I could no longer gather my thoughts or stand back up. I knew a few days of rest would help, but I did not have a few days. I had fallen, accepted it and began trusting my team enough to ask for support.
I now understand that, alongside learning teamwork, I was also confronting my ego. I trusted my team, and they supported me. It became one of the best experiences I have ever had.
Aegis not only helped me understand myself; it also gave me substantial technical knowledge and practical capability. I still find it difficult to understand how I learned so much in one month. The technical content was so rich and the tasks so effective that, during the examination, I could solve problems almost instinctively.
There was no passive learning. We were always in the leading role and worked directly with every challenge. We investigated problems ourselves for days. By the time we reached the examination, our hands and minds were already accustomed to the work. Looking back, the program taught us a mindset of moving, communicating, adapting and acting. There is an immense amount of information to learn, and more appears every day.
The program did not merely teach us fragments of that information. It taught us how to find and use what we needed. The effects of pressure, my fears, the experience of becoming a team, the technical support and many other moments are memories I will never forget.
Everything was meaningful and worth experiencing. I am grateful that I encountered Cyber Struggle and was able to complete this program. Some experiences cannot be fully explained in sentences; they must be lived. I am very proud to hold the Aegis Certification.
